So this week, we hit some pretty good coupon deals. We've been using coupons to save a little bit of money, but this week, we hit the mother load!
We went on two trips so far, we are going out tonight to pick up something that was out of stock yesterday, so I'll just include it in a section. Its just amazing that by casual couponing (not crazy couponing) you can save so much. We only get one newspaper a week! (Tho we are going to switch to both the Seattle and Tacoma papers, as they are both really different and Tacoma has better coupons and is only a buck a week.)
First, our Albertsons trip:
We bought:
3 cans tuna @ 39 cents a piece (In ad coupon)
2 boxes Cocoa Krispies @ 88 cents a piece (Coupon for 2/$2, and they were on sale for $1.88)
3 bananas @ 23 cents (Coupon for $1 off produce with 2 boxes cereal purchase)
10 cups of yoplait yogurt @ $3.00 total (Coupon for $2/10 which wasnt the best but the only one we had!)
1 fancy coffee creamer @ 69 cents (Coupon for $1.10/1)
2 Lunchables for $2 (Sale we decided to pick a few up)
Total OOP $8.85
Total savings with matching coupons to sales: $21.28
Total savings from simply using coupons: $6.43
Our alternate trip, we bought:
2 cans Pringles @ 50 cents a piece ($2/2 coupon with the $3/2 sale)
2 oscar meyer deli selects @ free ($2/2 x2 coupons with them on sale for $1)
Total OOP $1.00
Total savings from coupons: $6
(I dont know the original prices of these items, so no sales matching info)
Second, our Target trip:
5 kool-aid packets @ .25 cents total (50c/5 coupon)
2 reach floss @ .12 cent moneymaker ($1/1 x2 coupons along with the .97 cent price)
1 Excedrin 20ct @ .41 cent moneymaker ($1/1 target coupon + $3/1 manufacturers coupon)
2 boxes tampons (54 ct & 36 ct) @ $3.08 for both ($2/1 & $1/1 coupons + $5 gift card for purchasing 2 boxes)
2 big bottles pantene shampoo & conditioner @ $5.58 for both ($1/1 + $5 gift card for purchasing 2 bottles)
1 coffeemate creamer @ free (coupon for 1 free bottle of creamer via facebook)
1 cascade rinse @ $2.14 ($1/1 coupon used to try to see if this works)
Total OOP $10.68
Total savings from coupons & deal matching: $25.69
These are all things we use on a regular basis, so I am proud of my haul. It may be nothing compared to some people, but this is amazing.
And just an FYI, Walgreens & Target allow you to use their store coupons alongside of a manufacturers coupon, and Albertsons sends "double coupon" coupons that will double a coupon thats original value is up to $1, so we used a $1/2, $1/2, & 55c/1 coupon at Albertsons, with the double coupons that we got in the Sunday paper, and saved money. We also used the Target coupon and manufacturers coupon for the Excedrin.
If you are interested in learning more about couponing, I am getting most of my information and deal matchups from:
Krazy Koupon Lady (The one on the TLC show Extreme Couponing who dug through the paper recycle for coupons if you seen that show!)
